In light of the Mercosur agreement, the region is more exciting than ever: numerous company representatives and other important players from the region and Germany will come together in Berlin at the beginning of February for the Latin America Conference of German Business.
18th Latin America Conference on 4 February in Berlin
Expand your network in the growth regionFor the 18th time, the event at the Haus der Deutschen Wirtschaft will be focussing on opportunity markets from Mexico to Tierra del Fuego. In recent years, the region has once again become much more of a focus for German companies – and not just because products and services made in Germany enjoy an excellent reputation locally.
Raw materials, manufacturing, skilled labour and more
The region's two largest economies, Brazil and Mexico, have recovered well after the coronavirus pandemic; many Latin American countries are also potential strategic partners for critical raw materials and renewable energies, as well as locations for innovation and manufacturing. Other advantages include a young, well-educated population, a largely investment-friendly industrial policy and a cultural proximity to Europe that is unrivalled. Last but not least, most Latin American countries are linked to the EU through cooperation and free trade agreements, and further agreements are currently being negotiated.
High-ranking guests in Berlin on 4 February
The region's potential will be discussed in detail at the 18th Latin America Conference of German Business on 4 February from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) in Berlin. The high-ranking guests from business and politics include (deputy) ministers and ambassadors from various Latin American countries. The Vice President of Costa Rica, Stephan Brunner Neibig, has been invited as guest of honour.
The event is organised by the Latin America Initiative of German Business, which – coordinated by the DIHK – represents the interests of German companies vis-à-vis the Federal Government and the governments of Latin American and Caribbean countries.
